Green chia porridge

Don’t be put off by the appearance – it may look like green frogspawn, but is surprisingly tasty!

Step by Step Instructions

  • 1 date, pitted
  • 1 handful baby spinach leaves
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut, soya or almond milk
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
Step 1

Blend the date, spinach and milk in a food processor at full speed, until smooth.

Step 2

Put the chia seeds in a medium size bowl, add the liquid and stir well. Continue to stir regularly for 15 mins.

Step 3

Refrigerate for at least an hour, or overnight and serve with toppings of your choice e.g. fresh fruit, coconut yoghurt, nuts and seeds.


The health benefits of chia seeds have been revered for centuries by ancient central American cultures and are now often classed as a modern-day ‘superfood’ due to their impressive nutritional profile.
