Amanda Cleghorn BA Hons, Dip ION Fd Sc
I graduated in 2010 with a Foundation Degree in Nutritional Therapy from the highly respected Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) in Surrey, UK. ION is a leading provider of nutrition education and cutting edge nutritional therapy clinics in Europe. The four year course is fully accredited by the Nutritional Therapy Education Commission and the British Association for Nutritional Therapy and combines the latest science-based learning, with rigorous training in clinical practice, to ensure the highest professional standards.
I base my practice on the latest global nutrition research and in line with self-regulation of the industry, undertake ongoing professional training and development. I am a highly motivated professional and strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for each and every client, all of whom inspire me to continue my learning of this rapidly changing and fascinating area of science.
Prior to training in nutrition, I worked as a researcher in the food marketing divisions of large FMCG companies such as Unilever, Nestle and Hills Pet Nutrition. As a busy mother of three young children, I understand the pressures of modern life that many of my clients experience and I am passionate about helping people to make the connection between what they eat and how they feel.
My love of food and cooking shines through to all who know me. I trained at Prue Leith’s School of Food and Wine in London and enjoy creating, sharing and testing out new recipes, especially with my Thermomix. However, I appreciate that not everyone enjoys or has time to spend in the kitchen, which is part of the reason why each client consultation is so unique and is tailored to individual requirements.
